$CATE, or Catecoin, is a meme coin on Solana that fair launched on pump.fun on 26 July 2026. It positions itself as the cat sister of Dogecoin. It launched with a supply of one billion tokens, of which roughly 964 million remain after burns. Its mint and freeze authorities are both revoked, its liquidity pool tokens were burned, and it charges no buy or sell tax. The live circulating figure is read from chain hourly on the stats page.

It is a meme coin. There is no product, no revenue, and no team promising a roadmap of deliverables. The community is the whole proposition.

The Solana contract address is Ai66LHZG9MCzg1WKdawwqduVAXpNDUuV8M3uyq5ppump

Check it character by character against a second source such as DexScreener or Solscan before you buy. Scam tokens copy every other detail perfectly.

No, and this trips people up constantly. There is an older CateCoin that launched on BNB Chain in 2021 with its own website and CoinMarketCap listing. It is a completely separate project on a different blockchain with a different contract.

Confusingly, the Solana token also carries the name Catecoin in its on-chain metadata. If a page does not show the Solana address above, it is not this token.

More than two things carry this name. Which CateCoin is which goes through each of them and how to tell them apart in thirty seconds.

PoorGoat is an anonymous trader who posts as @PoorGoat_ on X and @poorgoat__ on TikTok. He built his following trading publicly on FOMO, a Solana app where positions and profit and loss are visible to everyone, and he says an early position in the ANSEM token took him from about thirty thousand dollars to roughly one and a half million.

He found $CATE early, and took over running it after the previous operator disappeared. Those dollar figures are his own account, socially verified through his public wallet rather than independently audited.

No. This is a community-run hub built and maintained by holders. The official project site is cate.meme.

This site exists to do the things an official meme coin site usually does not: publish live numbers, keep the contract address prominent and verifiable, document what actually happened, and hand out art.

The project added a second official property on 13 August 2026: a free education site at academy.cate.meme, which teaches spotting rugs, fake mints and scam DMs in short lessons. It says on its own front page that it will never ask you to connect a wallet. It is linked from cate.meme itself, and that is the check worth running on anything claiming to be an official property.

Price, market cap, and the 24 hour buy and sell counts come from the DexScreener public API, with Jupiter as a price-only fallback. Liquidity, total volume, and the pool count come from GeckoTerminal, read across every pool rather than just the busiest one, which is why the page can also show what share of the market the deepest pool holds. Holder counts and the distribution breakdown come from GeckoTerminal. Supply, and the confirmation that the mint and freeze authorities are revoked, are read straight from a Solana RPC node. Graduation status comes from pump.fun.

The social numbers split according to what is publicly readable. The Telegram portal is a public channel, so its subscriber count is read from its own page hourly. The community group is private and has no username, so its member count, both X follower counts, the TikTok count, and the FOMO thesis total are collected three times a day from a logged-in browser session. Any one of those tiles will say on its face that it has stopped updating rather than quietly showing a stale number. Note that X rounds PoorGoat's follower count to three significant figures, so small moves there are rounding steps rather than growth.

Holder history before 9 August 2026 is reconstructed from on-chain transfer data through Dune, counting wallets above a dust threshold at each day's close, because no free source publishes historical Solana holder counts. That method lands within one percent of the live measurement, and within 0.2 percent on the day the two series meet. Price and market cap history come from GeckoTerminal pool candles.

The market and on-chain numbers refresh hourly through a server job and are cached, so the page never waits on a third party. When a source fails, the last known value stays on screen with its timestamp rather than dropping to zero.

Buying any meme coin risks the entire amount. $CATE fell about eighty-five percent in five minutes on 3 August 2026, and eighty-seven percent from its high within that hour, then more than tripled off the low inside about an hour. That is normal behaviour for this asset class, not an anomaly.

The structural checks worth doing on any token are the same ones that apply here: is the mint authority revoked, is the liquidity burned or locked, what share does the top ten wallets hold, and is there a real transfer tax. Those answers are on the stats page, pulled live.

None of that makes a token a good investment. It only rules out a few specific ways of being robbed.

The five checks that actually matter works through each one against this token, and what LP burned and mint revoked actually protect you from covers the two that get quoted most and understood least.

  • Verify the contract address against two independent sources before every purchase.
  • Never enter your wallet recovery phrase on any website, for any reason.
  • Treat every unsolicited message about a claim, airdrop, giveaway, or support issue as an attack.
  • PoorGoat has not issued a personal token. Sites offering a "$POORGOAT airdrop" are not affiliated with him.
  • The project's education site, CATE Academy, states that it will never DM you and never asks you to connect a wallet. Anything trading on that name and asking for either is an impersonation.
  • Do not connect your wallet to a site just to see if something is real.

Not on Binance and not on KuCoin. Re-checked on 2 September 2026, neither lists any CATE market at all, which is worth saying plainly because articles claiming a KuCoin listing do circulate. OKX returns no CATE market either.

Four smaller centralised exchanges do list it, and that count went up this week. Re-checked against this token on 2 September 2026, MEXC, LBank, BingX and Gate each run a CATE/USDT spot market priced in line with the Solana pools, and MEXC's own token page gives the blockchain as Solana. Between them they carried roughly $1.0M of that day's volume against about $9.0M on Solana itself, so the on-chain pools are still where the overwhelming majority of trading happens.

Gate is the new one, and how it got there is the clearest lesson on this page. Until late August, the CATE ticker on Gate belonged to a different asset, and this page said so. Gate's own public API now returns the Solana chain and the exact mint address shown above for CATE, with the pair opening for buying on 30 August 2026, while the 2021 BNB Chain token has moved to a separate CATECOIN ticker. Read in the same second on 2 September 2026, Gate quoted CATE at about $0.0347 and CATECOIN at about $0.00000012, roughly three hundred thousand times apart. The same four letters pointed at two unrelated assets inside a week.

CoinMarketCap added this token on 19 August 2026. It has a CoinMarketCap page of its own, at a web address ending "catecoin-cate-meme", and that page carries the same Solana mint address shown above. It is a separate page from the one the 2021 BNB Chain CateCoin has held since May 2021. CoinGecko still does not list this token, re-checked 2 September 2026.

Treat exchange listing news for this ticker with suspicion, because most of it is about other assets. At least four things currently call themselves CATE or Catecoin: this one, the 2021 BNB Chain project, an Ethereum token listed under the same ticker in 2024, and unrelated Solana tokens. Note that having a CoinMarketCap page no longer tells them apart, because several of them have one now, including this token. Neither does a listing on a given exchange, as Gate has just demonstrated in both directions. The contract address is still the only check that works.

So if you use a centralised exchange, confirm the deposit and withdrawal network is Solana and that the contract matches the address above. And note what changes when you do: the exchange holds the token, not you. Revoked mint authority and burned liquidity protect the asset on chain. They say nothing about an account you do not hold the keys to.

$CATE trades on Solana DEXs including PumpSwap, Meteora, Orca, and Raydium, and can be bought through FOMO, Moonshot, and pump.fun. A few smaller centralised exchanges also list it, covered in the exchange question above. The how to buy guide walks through both routes.

FOMO is a Solana social trading app where wallets and profit and loss are public by default. Each token has a page showing who holds it, whether they are up or down, and the written thesis they attached to the position, if they shared one.

That transparency is why PoorGoat could not quietly sell into his own audience, and it is a large part of why the community trusts him.

Check every character. Fake tokens copy the name, the logo and the story. The address is the only thing they cannot copy.
